Cocoa from Ghana supports Dutch women’s handball with Tournament
Cocoa from Ghana is supporting the Dutch women’s handball team by organizing a tournament to help them prepare for Rio 2016. This is the first time a Dutch handball team has made it to the Olympics, which makes the achievement both impressive and historic. For this reason, main sponsor Cocoa from Ghana decided to organize a special four-nation tournament from Tuesday 19 July to Thursday 21 July.
The Cocoa from Ghana four-nation tournament will be held at the Indoor Sportcentrum Eindhoven, where the Dutch women’s handball team will compete against the national teams of Sweden, Montenegro, and Russia. For the Dutch national team, this tournament will be a dress rehearsal and a final send-off before the Olympic Games.
‘Cocoa from Ghana initiated this handball tournament,’ says Sven Rouwenhorst, sponsorship manager for the Netherlands Handball Association (NHV). ‘In doing so, they’re adding real value as our main sponsor. We look forward to a fun and effective tournament that will enhance the already triumphant mood of our players!’
Strong position for national team
‘The Dutch national team is in a strong position,’ adds Joost Bellaart, spokesperson for Cocoa from Ghana. ‘Last December they placed second in the Handball World Championships in Denmark and next summer they’ll be competing in the Olympics. Cocoa from Ghana is proud to be associated with this top team and looks forward to the four-nation tournament in Eindhoven.’
